My name is Sam Taylor and I taught English in Thailand from 2012 to 2015. During this time I was fortunate enough to live all over the country, gaining an appreciation for cultural nuances as well as linguistic differences. Learning Thai afforded me important insight into my students’ experience learning English. Although I started teaching out of necessity (I was running out of money and didn’t want to leave Thailand), teaching has continued to be central to my life and I have come to think of myself as a teacher. As any teacher will tell you, the most rewarding part of teaching is watching a student «get it». Since returning to the United States in 2015, I have tutored Korean professionals via the internet, and have now taken on some Thai students and hope to teach some Russians too. My methodology varies by the needs of individual students and I always tailor my lessons to fit individual goals, preferences, and needs. One great thing about my job is the opportunity to interact with people from many cultures and I hope to visit Russia someday.
